This website has been established to examine and celebrate the iconic Ravelston Garden Flats. What makes these buildings so unusual, is that they are one of the few examples of A Listed, Art Deco Architecture in Edinburgh. Originally factored by Jenners, they were designed in the International Stye by Robert Hurd and Andrew Neil in 1936. Somewhat resembling the Ocean Liners of the time, they have porthole windows, butterfly staircases, balconies and roof terraces like ocean decks with interiors that are compact and elegant.
